Realizing a New Look for Your E-Commerce Experience

While a human skill-set tends to boast many different valuable elements, none have proven themselves to be as important as our willingness to get better on a rather consistent basis. You see, when someone is progressing regardless of the situation, they become more than likely to stumble upon some notable milestones over time. The same is made evident by all what we have achieved so far. However, if we really have to pick the best representation of the same, we cannot pick anything but technology. Technology seems like such an anomaly, because unlike all the other human ideas, it was able to establish a presence across our entire spectrum. This eventually orchestrated our transition to become a tech-driven society, and yet even after we get to the stated point, we’ll continue nurturing the creation so to help it in fulfilling its crazy potential. In fact, IKEA’s latest launch qualifies as one such attempt.

IKEA is officially launching a new AI-driven interactive design experience called IKEA Kreativ, which will help potential customers in visualizing, and consequentially, designing their living spaces through digitized furniture. Dubbed as the home retail industry’s first ever mixed-reality design experience for lifelike and accurate interior design, the feature works alongside Apple’s ARKit to enable customers in terms of scanning the room and placing virtual iterations of IKEA chair, table, bed etc wherever they want. According to certain reports, the offering is predicated upon advance concepts like spatial computing, machine learning and 3D mixed-reality technologies. Furthermore, it also has similar AI and vision setups that you find in those self-driving cars. This notably includes AI neural networks that have been trained to recognize the objects and geometry of indoor spaces, stereo vision algorithms to see in 3D, and computational photography algorithms.

Interestingly enough, the customer can opt for the custom option and design their own space or they can even choose from over 50 pre-designed 3D showrooms that include fully-furnished, semi-furnished, and empty rooms.

“We’re working hard to help people imagine a better life at home by fusing real technology advancements with fun and magical user experiences,” said Brian Totty, CEO and founder of Geomagical Labs, the company that developed the entire 3D experience for IKEA Kreativ. “We are super excited to share our first products and look forward to making these capabilities even more helpful and awesome in the years to come.”

Besides the innate digital furnishing capabilities, IKEA Kreativ also comes with the standard visual search tech that brings you recommendations on the basis of your preferences. As for individual product variety, it is expected to be expansive, but for now, it won’t cover the complete IKEA catalog. To access the feature, you can visit the company’s official website or you can get the dedicated IKEA application.
