A Comprehensive Portfolio Push to Make Automation More Accessible

RS, a global product and service solutions provider for industrial customers, has officially announced the launch of an extensive product portfolio, marketed under the name RS PRO products.

According to certain reports, the stated portfolio is specifically designed to make automation accessible for everyone. More on the same would reveal how RS PRO products are engineered to help customers overcome common challenges in several different industrial markets. Furthermore, they also arrive on the scene with an ability to deliver a rare combination of quality, choice, and value.

On top of that, these products are also powered by the RS PRO Seal of Approval, something which is only awarded after a rigorous testing, inspection, and auditing process based on demanding international standards.

At launch, RS PRO portfolio features more than 80,000 products across 1,500 technologies to satisfy the needs of every industrial application, and provide competitive savings compared to branded alternatives. This the assortment markedly does without compromising performance, thus making it possible for customers of all sizes to work confidently. Alongside that, it delivers at your disposal more than 15,000 in-stock and ready-to-ship solutions, as well as a growing selection of sustainable solutions.

In case that wasn’t enough, you can also combine the stated field-proven, industrial-grade products to further simplify customers’ sourcing processes, and therefore, save even more time and money.

Talk about what all is included in RS PRO products portfolio, we begin from the availability of more than 2,900 enclosures designed to protect electrical equipment from environmental hazards, including dust, weather, washdowns, chemicals, along with electromagnetic and radio frequency interference.

Next up, we have 2,080 hook-up wires that can be used to connect components in low-current and low-voltage electrical with electronic devices and control panels. Then, there is an assortment of 1,630 temperature sensors which are capable of picking on changes in environmental and substance temperatures before converting those measurements into electrical signals that can be monitored and analyzed by control systems.

Joining the mix would be the portfolio’s 1,400 network and Ethernet cables that can seamlessly connect various different network nodes, including computers and IIoT devices.

Decked up with over 1,020 pushbutton switches meant to be used for turning electrical circuits on and off, RS’ portfolio also has 940 rectangular connectors that connect multiple wires or circuits together to facilitate the transmission of power, signals, and data between devices. It even brings to your disposal 810 multiconductor cables which can simultaneously transmit power and signal in applications that require multiple connections, including machine tools and factory automation, process automation, and control systems.

“Automation doesn’t have to be expensive,” said Jody Kemp, RS Vice President of Supplier and Sales Engagement – Americas. “While there are certainly classes of industrial applications that require complex and costly automation capabilities, there are just as many — if not more — that don’t have any need for pricey extras, applications that instead need sensors that reliably detect, switches that faithfully flip, and alarms that dutifully count. RS PRO automation products reliably fulfill these needs in even the most modern industrial environments while simplifying sourcing and giving you the best value for your money.”

Hold on, we still have a few bits left to unpack, considering we still haven’t touched on the presence of over 700 industrial cable assemblies that can be used to transmit electrical power and signals between the various components of industrial systems and machinery. We also haven’t touched on the stock of an estimated 540 relays and relay sockets that help protect electrical systems and connected equipment from over-current and -voltage conditions.

Beyond that, there would be 410 audibles, including alarms, buzzers, bells, sirens, and horns, that have their utility rooted in alerting people regarding machine and process errors, hazards, and status changes. The portfolio further has 300 proximity sensors which can detect the presence of objects from both long and short distances much more quickly than contact sensors. This they do using capacitive, inductive, magnetic, or ultrasonic technologies.

Among other things, the assortment packs together 290 bootlace ferrules that can be used to create secure electrical connections between stripped wires and terminals or clamps.
