Building Automation System: How is BAS Useful for Hospitals?

The main objective of any hospital is comfort, to keep their patients comfortable. One of the main ways in which the hospitals this is achieved by hospitals is by the Building Automation System or BAS. This system controls the HVAC that is, the system of chillers, boilers, air handlers, boxes that control the air volumes and a lot of other aspects.

The reason for which hospitals install a well operational Building Automation System is to keep every other operation going on smoothly. A hospital is a busy place and lakhs of operations, treatments and emergencies take place, so there needs to be a proper management system that would do its job on its own. This ensures no hindrance in work and the system along with the monitoring, necessary alarms especially the fire alarm; tight security and good power system ensure better surveying and smooth operations.

The BAS or Building Automation System is one of the most underrated and misunderstood system in the entire hospital, yet if it is installed, there is no looking back. Although, the regulatory components and BAS must have a balance in them, or what is known as compliance so that the hospital does not face any negative outcome.

Before choosing the correct manufacturer for BAS, it is important for the authorities to understand their hospital well. This system is also expensive but has a lot of interesting features that make it one of a kind. This system shall have control over every utility and service that the hospital provides. Before making decisions about installing BAS in a hospital, the authorities should keep in mind the following:

  • Regulatory Requirements and Compliance
  • Energy Saving
  • Needs of the Hospital
  • User-Friendly

If the BAS is easy to use and doesn’t cause much of a trouble, the staff of the hospital wouldn’t have much of an issue. BAS is necessary for hospitals and places of high emergency.
