Realizing the Old Dream

Human beings have a known knack of being able to get through almost every imaginable situation. We do feel at times that we have lost the plot, but in reality, there is no limit to human potential. This piece of theory has been validated time and again. Most importantly, however, it achieved the said validation in many different ways, hence bringing an assortment of some unique dynamics into the picture. The chief by-product to emerge here, as one would expect, was a better overall lifestyle. Now, if we are to asses these exclusive dynamics on an individual level and figure out which one had the biggest impact, there is a very good chance that a creation like technology will end up winning the debate by a landslide margin. After all, it’s not every day you get to see one particular concept defining a whole era. While we acknowledge technology’s immense success, we must also give a certain degree of credit to various little factors that chipped in with their effort over the past and continue to put more and more on the table. One such factor happens to be our smartphones. The modern generation literally cannot function without their smartphones, and one major brand responsible for constructing the said dependence is now ready to take walk a new road.

According a report from Bloomberg, Apple has started working towards the development of more in-house chip components. If further details are to be believed, the company’s efforts to establish a proper office for its new branch are already underway. The new branch will function across disciplines like “wireless radios, radio-frequency integrated circuits and a wireless system-on-a-chip,” in addition to “semiconductors for connecting to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi,” Interestingly enough, Apple’s decision to venture into an unchartered territory comes at a time when the world is facing probably the biggest ever chip shortage in its history, but apparently there are also some other motivators in play. By replacing Skyworks, Qualcomm, and Broadcom, company’s current chip suppliers, Apple wishes to realize a greater control and hardware integration.

A move so big can appear as surprising, except Apple has long expressed an intention to develop 5G chips in-house. The company will reportedly make it happen through Intel’s smartphone modem technology, which Apple acquired in 2019.

Even though, we haven’t, so far, heard any confirmation from the tech-giant over Bloomberg’s report, it will be interesting to see how the smartphone landscape evolves over the next few years.
