Building the EV Dream

While there are gazillion valuable elements in the human arsenal, the thing that actually sets us apart is our knowledge of how to make things better on a consistent basis. You see, when someone can scale up under all possible situations, they eventually position themselves to hit upon some huge milestones along the way. In case the quantitative aspect isn’t enough, each of these milestones, going by whatever we have achieved so far, also adds a different value to our lives. However, despite all the uniqueness in play here, we are still yet to see anything as unprecedented as technology. Technology stands a cut above the rest for reasons that aren’t just predicated upon its skill-set. By saying that, we are, of course, shifting the conversation to the manner in which those skills were used for impacting what was really our entire spectrum. This, like you can guess, did a lot to make us a tech-driven society, but even after we get there, the creation will continue finding new inroads for us to tread, and consequentially, become better in every conceivable sense. In fact, General Motors’ latest decision presents another inroad of the stated nature.

The automotive-giant, general motors, has officially unveiled its plans to build a “coast-to-coast” network of fast electric vehicle chargers that are going to be installed at Pilot and Flying J truck stops. According to certain reports, the network will have a whopping 2,000 DC fast chargers installed at up to 500 truck stops and travel centers, and as for the charging speed, all of them should be able to clock around 350kW. Mind you, the new network is, in no way whatsoever, related to GM’s another EV project, which aims at installing over 3,250 chargers across US by 2025. Talk more about the project in question here; each charging station will include canopies to protect EV owners from any harmful elements. Furthermore, it will also come equipped with those pull-through capabilities for owners who are pulling trailers. Notably enough, the entire project will be co-funded by GM and the Pilot Company, while EVgo, an EV charging company, is going to manage the operation on a day-to-day basis.

“GM and Pilot Company designed this program to combine private investments alongside intended government grant and utility programs to help reduce range anxiety and significantly close the gap in long-distance EV charger demand,” said Shameek Konar, Pilot Company Chief Executive Officer. “Our travel centers are well-equipped to accommodate EV charging with 24/7 amenities and convenient proximity to major roadways across the country. We look forward to collaborating with GM and the U.S. Department of Transportation to make convenient coast-to-coast EV travel a reality.”
