Electrifying Your Pizza Deliveries

The human arsenal might be expansive beyond all known limits, but truth be told, it still doesn’t have anything more valuable than that tendency of ours to grow on a consistent basis. This tendency, in particular, has already fetched us some huge milestones, with technology appearing as a rather unique member of the stated group. The main reason why technology’s credentials are so anomalous is predicated upon its skill-set, which was unprecedented enough to guide us towards a reality that nobody could have ever imagined otherwise. Nevertheless, if we take up a slightly closer look, it will become clear how the whole runner was also very much inspired by the way we applied those skills across a real-world environment. The latter component was, in fact, what gave the creation a spectrum-wide presence, and consequentially, kickstarted a tech revolution. This revolution, as we discovered, will go on to scale up the human experience from every conceivable direction, but even after achieving such a monumental feat, technology will somehow continue to bring all the right goods to the table. The same has only turned more and more evident in recent times, and Domino’s latest decision does a lot to keep that trend well and truly alive.

Domino’s Pizza, a.k.a the largest pizza delivery company in the world, has officially decided to lead the way and electrify a good chunk of its delivery fleet. According to certain reports, the company will bring more than 100 custom-branded 2023 Chevy Bolt electric vehicles to a select assortment of franchises and corporate stores throughout US, while an additional 700 are set to arrive in the coming months. Considering a Chevy Bolt EV is well-equipped to travel over 259 miles on a single charge, and with most stores only serving their local areas, Domino’s is optimistic that there won’t be any panic about the charging aspect. So, as a result, the company will save itself from rising gas prices, and at the same time, take a major step towards becoming more sustainable. Staying on the move’s high financial feasibility, GM has even slashed the price for Chevy’s 2023 model to $26,595, making it one of the most affordable EVs out there.

Beyond the economic benefits, though, the move will also help the company in attracting drivers who don’t have a car of their own.

When quizzed regarding this development, Domino’s chief executive officer, Russell Weiner said:

“Domino’s launched pizza delivery in 1960 with a Volkswagen Beetle, rolled out the DXP® – a custom-built pizza delivery vehicle – in 2015, tested autonomous pizza delivery with cars and robots, and is now leading the charge in the future of pizza delivery. Domino’s has always been on the cutting edge of pizza delivery and electric delivery cars make sense as vehicle technology continues to evolve. We’ve made a commitment to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, and this is one way we can begin reducing our environmental impact, one delivery at a time.”

In order to check when and where the new EV delivery vehicles are or will be active, customers can head on to Domino’s official website, which has a detailed lowdown on the stated information.

Another bit worth-mentioning here is how Domino’s has partnered with Enterprise Fleet Management, which will supplement the company’s EV initiative with a wide range of services, including hands-on account management, vehicle acquisition, financing, telematics solutions, maintenance for the electric delivery fleet, and more.
