A Smarter Home is a Better Home

As a society, we often take great pride in being adaptable to almost anything. It’s not just an empty belief. We have substantiated the existence of this skill during many crisis events that threatened to consume us, and we did it by not only emerging from the crisis itself but also by becoming better than ever before. While it was a good thing to know that we were not dependent on anything, this piece of knowledge would go on to stroke a lot anxiety upon the inevitable acknowledgement of technology’s takeover. People started to preach staying away from tech devices, so that they don’t get any more reliant on this fairly reliable creation. Nevertheless, the tech revolution wasn’t here to be stopped by these voices of dissent. It was driven by people who knew the upsides were just too many to ignore, thus it continued to grow into a formidable force. The whole thing happened rather gradually, but after a certain point, those envisioned benefits turned more and more apparent to general public. From there onwards, technology never looked back. We were soon getting bestowed with tools to cater our every single need, and during this process, a new world was born.

Even though people were now quite satisfied with what they were getting, it didn’t stop technology’s progression to higher levels. This progression would result in the making of many more novel facets of tech, one of them being the highly-useful cloud technology. There are a lot of reasons to consider cloud as transformative, although, most of them are concerned with the phenomenal amount of impact it had on the commercial sector, but a recently-formed affiliation suggests that it’s ready to explore something new

Appliance manufacturer, GE Appliances has officially signed a multi-year partnership deal with Google Cloud, an agreement that marks the next chapter for smart home technologies. The partnership will see GE Appliances using their expertise in hardware, whereas Google Cloud will be coming in an important voice on topics like data, artificial intelligence, analytics, and machine learning. Google Cloud’s openness to function with the other Google and Android products facilitates the construction of a well-coordinated platform. Also, with Google Cloud you are getting access to next generation tools like Vision AI, thus poising yourself for an even smarter home experience. If that’s not enough, the AI-centric system is also expected to reduce unplanned downtime.

“As the fastest-growing appliance manufacturing company in the United States and with more than a century of industry experience, we are committed to continuing our evolution and fulfilling our promise to deliver the best appliances to our owners and customers,” the CDO of GE Appliance, Viren said when asked about his two cents on the partnership.
