Letting Virtual Reality Pull the Real Strings

We devote a sizeable time towards figuring out that one dominant theme of our lives, but in all honesty, that’s just a futile process. Our lives are not really designed to be governed by one exclusive theme. Instead, it’s a combined representation of many little yet substantial trends, which play a big role in shaping our core personality. These trends also have a well-known knack of appearing in varying shapes and forms, thus giving us a shot at achieving more well-rounded growth. However, while a setup like this does a ton to prioritize versatility, it also has certain anomalies where one particular element has overpowered the rest. If you are looking for an example, you only have to look at technology. Technology didn’t turn up on the scene as a mere come-and-go thing. Instead, what it did was transform the way we perceived all the other trends in our lives. In simpler words, we can even claim that it gave our lives a whole new identity. As far as versatility is concerned, technology luckily came with its own world of offerings. In fact, that pool has only grown bigger over the recent past, and Nvidia is now looking to build something groundbreaking upon one such tech by-product.

Nvidia has officially introduced its virtual reality platform called Omniverse Avatar. The platform is basically envisioned with an intention to bring virtual agents into mix for carrying out a wide range of tasks that concern areas like smart retailing, drive-through, customer service, and a lot more. Powered by many technologies that include voice recognition, synthetic speech, face tracking, and 3D avatar animation, these virtual agents are a part of Nvidia’s Omniverse vision, which to be fair, does share some similarities with the much-discussed Metaverse. However, Omniverse Avatar isn’t just aiming at remote collaboration. It’s more focused on replacing industrial environments altogether with a virtual alternative and the company wants to facilitate that transition by, of course, a team of virtual agents.

“The dawn of intelligent virtual assistants has arrived,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia. “Omniverse Avatar combines Nvidia’s foundational graphics, simulation and AI technologies to make some of the most complex real-time applications ever created. The use cases of collaborative robots and virtual assistants are incredible and far reaching.”

As of now, the evidence is insufficient to make any projections regarding Omniverse Avatar’s future. Some significant inconsistencies like late response rate need to be fixed before we see the platform becoming a trusted mainstay.
