Reading the Crypto Room

Learning how to respond to change is extremely important for every individual. This is what pretty much decides where’ll stand among others, and consequentially, where we’ll go from there onwards. You see, people who are able to deal with change in a productive manner almost always end up taking a more advantageous position across every imaginable regard, whereas the ones who remain close-minded to any alteration get quickly left behind. Such a dynamic was on full display when technology turned up on the scene. With the world dubious about how the creation will do over long-term, some individuals took their time to understand what the creation actually brought to the table. These were the people who would go on to have a vantage view of every opportunity, while the others scramble to stay relevant in a whole new reality. In hindsight, these situations have popped up time and time again even after technology had fully imposed itself as a dominant force in our lives. The most recent permutation of them, however, talks to cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency debate has been raging on for some time now. As the world ponders over its stance on this concept, we are witnessing more and more crypto believers emerging from the shadows. The growing list involves some really big names, and it’s now set to get another one with YouTube joining the party.

YouTube has issued an official communication, which conveys that the company is actively looking to adopt NFTs. In a recently-published letter, the popular media company outlined concrete plans to explore new investment avenues, including gaming, shopping, and of course, Web3. YouTube even went on to drop a strong indication of launching its own NFT in near future. If the platform really does that, it will be following the likes of Meta, Instagram, and Twitter in going big on NFTs, although they’ll seemingly choose to represent the said commitment in a different way.

“We’re always focused on expanding the YouTube ecosystem to help creators capitalize on emerging technologies, including things like NFTs, while continuing to strengthen and enhance the experiences creators and fans have on YouTube,” the letter reads.

YouTube’s decision to finally put their chips on crypto also marks a U-turn on the company’s part. Previously, the media platform wasn’t just staying from the concept, but it also went against the crypto community on several occasions after censoring and deleting channels of certain major crypto influencers. The deleted channels included names like Ivan on Tech, Bitboy, Pro Blockchain, Tone Vays, and many others.
