Unleashing a New Look

Human life is constructed on various foundations, but most of all, it is constructed upon trends. As the history will confirm, we have used different trends to diversify our outlook over time, and when you allow such a unique dynamic to take up the centre stage, you can very well expect some interesting by-products to emerge from it. Now, while we would end up witnessing plenty, things went beyond all parameters once technology was allowed on the scene. You see, we gave credit to particular movements for fuelling our growth, except what technology started was a full-fledged revolution. Instead of following the script and adding rather gradually to human tank, the creation straight up introduced a whole new landscape. This new regime will directly translate to significant upgrades across the board, and one area that saw it firsthand was the gaming sector. Since linking up with technology, the gaming sector has seen its identity change to something that we never thought was even possible. Nevertheless, this surprise won’t stop us from maximizing the potential in play here. The result, as you know, was a multi-billion dollar gaming industry, which by the way, is still continuing to grow at a breakneck pace. In fact, we got another piece of evidence for the same during a recent announcement from Google.

Google has officially unveiled Stadia’s B2B service called Immersive Stream for Games. Built in extensive collaboration with Google Cloud, the service lets you harness the capabilities of Stadia’s cutting-edge platform, and by doing so, it frees up the space for developers to run direct gaming trials, offer subscription bundles or entire storefronts, and do a whole lot more. Google piloted Immersive Stream for Games last year as a part of its deal with AT&T. There, the service was used to offer Batman: Arkham Knight to thousands of users, and after a successful experiment, the telecom giant is reportedly planning to use it for another game soon.

Talk about the entire project, it does well to affirm Google’s intention of reimagining Stadia’s role. The company is no longer focused on treating the platform as a centerpiece service. Instead, the roadmap for Google in the gaming sphere talks to strategic collaborations through B2B cloud gaming.

“We’re working to build out the underlying cloud gaming technology that powers both Stadia and our customers’ offerings via Immersive Stream for Games. A rising tide for cloud gaming lifts Immersive Stream for Games as well as Stadia, and we’re excited for what’s to come in 2022 and beyond,” said Dov Zimring, Stadia’s head of product.

Despite the apparent deprioritizing of Stadia, Google is still making sure that the platform remains on an upwards trajectory. To pull it off, the company announced some new features. According to certain reports, the said features are specifically designed to turn discovering and playing games relatively easier. They start off by eliminating the need to log in before browsing games. Next up, Google is bringing in a new “Click to Play Trials” option, which removes any need for you to pay to try out a new game. Lastly, the company has also launched a “Low Change Porting” toolkit that simplifies the process of porting Window games into Stadia.
