Answering a Big Logistical Question

Human beings are known to be good at many different things, and but mind you, there is little we do better than growing on a consistent basis. This, in particular, has allowed us to hit upon some huge milestones, with technology appearing as a major part of the stated group. The reason why technology enjoys such a significant stature among people is largely inspired by the creation’s outright unprecedented skill-set. Beyond that, however, it is also somewhat predicated upon the manner in which those skills were used. The latter component will, in fact, do a lot to spread technology’s impact across the entire impact, thus instigating a full-fledged tech revolution. Interestingly enough, even after taking over the world, the said revolution will still continue to get bigger under capacity or the other. This dynamic has already conceived a host of by-products in its wake, and looking at Instacart’s latest decision, it seems set to conceive another one soon.

Instacart has officially launched a new fulfilment capacity in Big & Bulky, which will allow customers to get same-day delivery for large items. According to certain reports, the new offering makes it possible for the users to order several different types of large items, including outdoor furniture, home office supplies, electronics, and more. Talk about the stores available for this services, you can place your order at stores like Big Lots, Container Store, Mastermind Toys, Office Depot, Spirit Halloween, and Staples, although more stores are expected to join the list in near future. The new service also brings something unique for the people who are delivering these items. To give you a bit of context, delivery agents with a large vehicle may now be eligible to access what Instacart calls Bulky Batches. In Bulky Batches, the payout will be decided by the number and weight of items in an order, and going by the company’s word, it “will include heavy pay when applicable.” Wait; there are more interesting details in regards to the delivery aspect. For instance, people who own an electric bike or a moped will also get a chance to fulfill orders, albeit with shorter distances and fewer items. This should make Instacart more of a universal prospect for delivery agents who don’t have access to a car.

“We’re excited to introduce these new opportunities for shoppers to increase your earnings, whether you have a large vehicle or none at all,” the company said in a statement. “We look forward to bringing you new updates and product features that will improve your experience as a shopper in the coming months.”

The latest move doesn’t seem so surprising once you realize that Instacart, as of late, has been trying to build out new features. Just a while ago, the company launched a new “OrderUp” offering, which lets users add items from additional retailers to their original grocery order without having to pay an extra delivery fee. Apart from it, Instacart also announced that Electronic Benefits Transfer and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (EBT SNAP) can now be used to buy groceries online in 10 additional states through its app.

Coming back to Big & Bulky, it is expected to debut across select cities in US and Canada, and it will do so over the next few weeks.
