Finding a Certain and Enhanced Return in an Uncertain and Risky Logistics Industry

Uber Freight, the leading end-to-end enterprise suite powering intelligent logistics, has officially announced an expansion of its drop and hook capacity solution called Powerloop. Under the stated expansion, the stated solution will receive an enhanced dedicated fleet offering, along with AI-powered bundling capabilities to build carrier drop and hook tours, and telematics-enhanced smart trailers. To contextualize it a little bit, dedicated fleets are the ones where carriers are committed full-time to serve a particular shipper under a long-term contract, offering cost-saving opportunities and guaranteed service for high-density freight needs. Hence, with the expansion of its dedicated fleets, Uber Freight should be able to conceive fleets of any size, leveraging carriers throughout the US. These carriers, on their part, will provide shippers with committed drop and live capacity on a weekly or ongoing basis so to unlock more stable and sustainable revenue for their businesses. We touched on the all-new AI-powered bundling capabilities; they are expected to play a significant role when it comes to optimizing carrier routes and eliminating millions of empty miles. Having reduced empty miles by more than 30% so far, the new look Powerloop will now enable access to a chance to haul bundles of loads from multiple shippers. Such a facility, like one might guess, will greatly increase carriers’ earnings, all while simultaneously improving trailer utilization.

“We’ve transformed Powerloop into the drop-and-hook solution that I envisioned during my time as a shipper,” said Alyssa Correale, Vice President of Operations at Uber Freight. “The escalating demand for our program is a testament to its efficacy. With a nationwide carrier base of 95,000 and significant enhancements, we’re reaffirming our commitment to innovation and excellence in the transportation industry, positioning ourselves to meet the burgeoning demand and drive continued acceleration.”

Finally, there are these smart trailers that were put in place to protect your cargo. Going by the available details, Uber Freight trailers will include, moving forward, state-of-the-art GPS, cargo sensors, door sensors, and 24/7 monitoring cameras. The whole setup will collectively generate real-time visibility into trailer location and capacity. Complimenting the same is how it will also deliver instant alerts against cargo theft, offering peace of mind to carriers and shippers. A detail we must mention here pertains to the data produced by Uber Freight’s new smart trailers, data which will be seamlessly integrated via API to ensure seamless tracking and proactive risk mitigation.

Founded in, Uber Freight has risen up on the back of its end-to-end enterprise suite, which uses relational logistics to advance supply chains across the globe. The company’s excellence in what it does can be understood once you consider it manages, at the moment, over $18 billion of freight, a figure which makes it one of the largest network carriers in the world. In case that didn’t sound impressive enough, then we must mention how Uber Freight provides services for 1 in every 3 Fortune 500 companies. Some of the heavyweights that it currently serves are Del Monte Foods, Nestle, Anheuser-Busch InBev and many others

“We’re thrilled to be expanding our offerings—without the need to expand our fleet—with Uber Freight’s Powerloop program,” said Reginald Alexander, Operations Manager at Skyward Transportation. “As a carrier of Uber Freight committed capacity, our drivers are hauling loads on a consistent basis for household names.”
