Going the GenAI to Transform Things on an Enterprise Level

Cognizant has officially announced a new partnership with Microsoft Corp, a partnership which will make Microsoft’s generative AI and Copilots available for millions of users so to transform enterprise business operations, enhance employee experiences, and accelerate cross-industry innovation. Under the agreed terms, Cognizant has already purchased 25,000 of Microsoft 365 Copilot seats for its associates, along with 500 Sales Copilot seats and 500 Services Copilot seats to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and transform customer experiences. On top of that, it will now deploy Microsoft 365 Copilot to a million users across its global clientele of more than 2000 customers, coming from 11 different industries. Anyway, all in all, Cognizant and Microsoft will collaborate to deliver industry-specific solutions, using Copilot Studio, a platform that allows users to create and customize their own industry-and-business-function specific Copilots through generative AI large language models, business applications, and enterprise data. Talk about who is likely to gain from these solutions, we begin from a media company, which can use the stated solutions to develop a generative AI-based facility for translation and localization of video content. This, in turn, should enable the company to generate accurate subtitles, dubbing, and cultural adaptation. Next up, we must get into how a manufacturing firm can leverage the by-products of the given partnership to improve its remote engineering diagnostics. You see, through generative AI, it can help field technicians in seamlessly identifying, analyzing, and resolving maintenance issues on their core products. Then, we have certain prospects available in the education space where an education services provider can redesign and execute its operating model, using generative AI to create and deliver personalized digital content that adapts to the preferences and needs of teachers and students.

Joining the same would be the utility it has for a communications provider, who can bank upon the Cognizant-Microsoft partnership to leverage complete automation of processes across sales, service delivery, and assurance, to enhance its customer experience and operational efficiency

“Generative AI can be a game-changer for virtually every business in every industry, opening up new possibilities for innovation, efficiency and growth,” said Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant. “That’s why we are investing $1 billion in generative AI over the next three years and leading the development of new research to explore its potential for our clients, their employees and end customers. We’re committed to helping them harness the power of generative AI at scale, and Microsoft Copilot is a proven tool that can bring transformative gains, unlocking talent and potential in ways we can only imagine.”

The whole development delivers a rather interesting follow-up to one research report from Cognizant and Oxford Economics. Named as New Work, New World, this report, purposed around the healthcare space, revealed that generative AI could automate up to one-third of tasks for emergency physicians. This could help address staffing challenges, improve service quality, and allow doctors to focus on patients’ health. Not just that, the report also dug into how generative AI can speed up procedure approval times from days to just minutes, thus eliminating delays and facilitating positive patient outcomes.

“Our expanded partnership with Cognizant will help organizations harness generative AI to transform business operations, enhance employee experiences, and deliver new value for customers,” said Judson Althoff, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Microsoft. “By combining Cognizant’s industry expertise with Microsoft’s Copilot capabilities –including Copilot for Microsoft 365 and GitHub Copilot – we will help drive AI adoption and innovation for millions of users across its network.”
